Members of the FPI will therefore be able to claim 0.5 verifiable points from the FPI.

In addition, all subscribers to CompliNEWS will be able to claim 0.5 verifiable CPD hours in terms of the FSCA (Financial Sector Conduct Authority) fit and proper CPD requirements.

It is important to point out that these fit and proper CPD hours may be claimed regardless of whether a subscriber is a member of a Professional Body or not.

“We are delighted that after many years of development, CompliNEWS has been formally recognised for the value it offers readers,” says Editor James George.

As CompliNEWS comes out some 40 times a year, this equates to 20 CPD hours (FSCA), which is more than the maximum requirement of 18 hours.

CompliNEWS is aimed at all professional compliance teams, representatives and key individuals who would like to keep up with industry news and the latest legislation developments, while earning CPD hours for reading the articles and answering related assessment questions.

“Hours will be awarded when you’ve successfully answered 5 questions per newsletter at the end of each month as ‘verification’ that you’ve actually completed the necessary reading,” says George.

CPD is one of the hallmarks of every reputable profession, and helps individuals to enhance their abilities, skills and knowledge on an ongoing basis.

If you are authorised to render financial services for a single subclass of business within a single class of business you need six hours of CPD activities per CPD cycle. If you are authorised to render financial services for more than one subclass of business within a single class of business, you need 12 CPD hours; and if you render financial services for more than one class of business, you are required to complete 18 hours of CPD activities per CPD cycle.
